This multi-billion-dollar Midwest manufacturing organization recently expanded through acquisition, doubling both its IT footprint and revenues. With a large-scale integration underway, the company needed a technology partner capable of executing a seamless IT migration while reducing costs and maintaining business continuity.
Following the acquisition, the manufacturer faced some big challenges:
The company needed a partner who could execute complex IT migration, automate critical processes, and enable rapid growth.
Utilizing Commvault Live Sync, Meridian IT replicated the acquisition’s IT environment to the new data center infrastructure incrementally during its usual backup processes. Meridian IT moved 215 TB of data during an eight-hour outage window, with less than 1 TB, or under three percent, of the environment requiring any manual intervention. All legacy infrastructure was decommissioned in five weeks, six months ahead of schedule. The new subsidiary also faced an unexpected requirement: it lost access to weekly maintenance of its business-critical Oracle Hyperion landscape, previously handled by its former parent’s network operations center. Working with Commvault, Meridian IT built a custom workflow to manage these tasks automatically and notify the company upon successful completion.
The manufacturer engaged Meridian IT to provide a new backup process for 60 remote sites. Meridian IT managed shipment of the data seeding servers to its own data centers, copied over backup data, and returned each server within a two-day window. Overall, backup of the remote sites was completed in just 45 days.
Meridian IT’s partnership delivered measurable business outcomes.
