MARKETING ASSOCIATE

REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR, MARKETING & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

SUMMARY:

The Marketing Associate is responsible for customer engagement, lead nurturing, content messaging and development, and other marketing support activities with the goal of reaching new customers, retaining existing customers and expanding Meridian’s market presence. This position will strategize go-to market plans, develop marketing campaigns coordinated with corporate directives and partner closely with product management, sales leadership and business development as they support delivering Meridian’s business goals.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Monitor and conduct weekly and monthly reports on a variety of programs including: new business development, advertising analytics, media and outreach
  • Manage the content and content schedule for Subject Matter Experts including but not limited to; white papers, case studies, and videos using channels such as email campaigns, trade shows, websites, microsites, and industry articles
  • Partner with key stakeholders (Product Managers, Sales, and Business Development) to create and deploy value driven messaging that positions Meridian as a thought leader, and engages/attracts leads
  • Work closely with the Product Management Team to plan and execute go-to market strategies
  • Responsible for ongoing management of the Customer Reference Program (CRP) including coordinating meetings with clients, onsite meeting logistics, and pre-meeting interview questions
  • Manage salesperson access to existing Meridian CRP members and content such as videos, quotes, and release forms
  • Responsible for managing committee memberships, industry conference schedules, and sponsorships
  • Build and manage robust lead nurturing programs that support the lead to revenue lifecycle
  • Identify, create and manage ongoing customer engagement efforts that support a robust engine of portfolio cross-selling opportunities
  • Create and lead campaigns & initiatives that deliver assigned business goals: lead acquisition, pipeline contribution, customer satisfaction & retention, revenue contribution and margin
  • Responsible for direct mail projects, coordinating mailing lists, responses, and attrition
  • Research new advertising channels as well as coordinating payments to partners, associations and vendors
  • Assist with sponsored events including distribution of promotion materials, coordination with event hosts, and on-site promotion
  • Coordinate company hosted events and assist with budgeting, securing event locations, promoting and managing invitation lists & RSVP’s, entertainment, food & beverages, and deliver follow up reporting and recruitment for each event
  • Travel to partner events to promote the company and participate in prospect meetings and tradeshows

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations or journalism
  • 3-5 years of experience in a marketing or equivalent role with an agency or in-house, with a proven track record of success with environments requiring hands-on participation
  • Incredible attention to detail is a must
  • Demonstrate organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and constantly changing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Superb interpersonal communication skills, including impeccable verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge using Salesforce a plus
  • Proficient knowledge of SEO/SEM best practices
  • Strong grasp of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Proactive, self-starter capable of advanced planning and ability to anticipate the ongoing, seasonal and event-based needs of the company
  • Flexibility and willingness to handle new and different tasks and ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment; critical thinker, communicative, and consultative problem solver
  • Fluency in social media sites and tools especially LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, blogs and vlogs

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION:

  • Degree from four-year university in business or marketing, required or requisite work experience
  • MBA is a strong plus
  • Work out of Chicago office
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
