ACCOUNT MANAGER

REPORTS TO: VICE PRESIDENT, SALES

SUMMARY

Meridian IT Inc. has a full-time position in Albany, NY for a Sales Account Manager responsible for generating leads, managing accounts, and meeting sales goals. To be successful in this role, you have a deep understanding of the sales process and dynamics, superb interpersonal skills, and are a team player with a can-do attitude.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create an account plan and strategy for new territory lead generation
  • Research, document, and analyze targeted companies to find trends
  • Maintain database of decision-makers, influencers, IT & finance roles
  • Build mutually beneficial relationships with internal departments and partner contacts
  • Present Meridian to potential buyers to demonstrate our portfolio and value-add
  • Stay current on all Meridian solutions and services
  • Coordinate sales efforts with marketing programs
  • Recognize client needs, answer questions about credit terms, products, prices and availability
  • Write proposals, justify financials, and handle the negotiation process
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports in CRM
  • Meet or exceed sales goals

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, & EXPERIENCE

  • Three or more years of successful sales experience in Data Center (networking, storage, distributed systems), Unified Communications, Contact Center, Cloud, and/or Security/Risk Management
  • Communications industry knowledge is preferred
  • A four-year degree is a plus
  • The drive to manage and maintain multiple accounts while looking for new opportunities
  • Excellent writing and listening skills
  • Strong verbal communication and time-management skills
